Organic and inorganic fertilizers combo boosts potato yield and quality.
Using a mix of organic and mineral fertilizers can increase the growth and quality of potatoes grown in sandy soil. By combining farmyard manure, poultry manure, and compost with mineral nitrogen fertilizer, the plants showed improved height, stem number, chlorophyll levels, nitrogen concentration in tubers, and protein content. However, using only mineral nitrogen fertilizer resulted in higher values overall. The best potato yield and nitrate content in tubers were seen when poultry manure was combined with mineral nitrogen fertilizer. This method also increased soil organic matter and decreased bulk density, making it a good way to boost crop yield and quality while reducing the negative effects of chemical fertilizers on the soil.
