Malaysian automotive industry ramps up supply chain risk management practices
The article explores how Malaysian automotive companies manage risks in their supply chains. The researchers studied three companies and found that they are moving towards more formal risk management practices. However, tools, communication, training, and responsibility for managing risks are not fully formalized yet. The main drivers for implementing risk management were pressure from customers and top management. On the other hand, internal barriers like lack of knowledge hindered the companies from fully implementing risk management practices. Overall, the study provides insights into how these companies are working to improve their supply chain risk management.
