Cryopreserved Testicular Tissue Restores Fertility, Offering Hope for Cancer Survivors
Testicular tissue cryopreservation is the best way to save sperm stem cells before transplanting them. In a study with mice, freezing testicular tissue instead of a cell suspension led to more viable cells after thawing, more and longer colonies of donor-derived cells, and more pups born from the transplanted cells. This shows that preserving testicular tissue is the preferred method for saving sperm stem cells for future use.
