Rousseau's Conflicting Visions of Education Reveal Societal Tensions
The research explores how education concepts are formed in two ways: intrinsic and extrinsic. They look at Rousseau's ideas to prove this. They discuss internal and external ways of forming concepts and then study how nature, society, and education concepts are shaped in Rousseau's theory. Rousseau sees education as both based on external influences like nature and society and on internal principles of human nature. The contradictions in his theory come from these different views of education. The study suggests new ways to study Rousseau's education theory through these different ways of understanding.
