Brackish water desalination plant in Brazil transforms seawater into fresh water.
A pilot plant was developed to address salty seawater mixing with freshwater in Praia de Leste, Brazil. The plant used ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis to treat brackish water, removing impurities like turbidity and color. The system successfully turned brackish water into high-quality freshwater, with the reverse osmosis stage removing 99.4% of total dissolved solids. The overall recovery rate was 45.81%, and the plant operated effectively in converting brackish water into clean, drinkable water.
