Sexual priming leads to more lies and conformity in dating.
Sexual priming can make people more likely to lie to impress a potential partner. In four studies, participants were shown sexual images and then interacted with someone of the opposite sex. The results showed that after being sexually primed, people were more likely to agree with the stranger's opinions and report fewer sexual partners than they actually had. This suggests that sexual priming can make people want to manage their impression, even if it means lying.
