The article explores how companies can improve their Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) projects by developing the right outsourcing capabilities. By combining specific client and vendor capabilities, firms can achieve better ITO performance. The researchers used a method called fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis to study how different capabilities work together to produce successful outsourcing outcomes. They identified three key types of outsourcing capabilities and found that certain combinations of these capabilities lead to high ITO performance. This study provides practical insights for companies looking to enhance their outsourcing projects.
