Text-summarization is important for quickly understanding text-based information. A new method was developed to automatically summarize text based on the importance of words. By creating a tree structure from the text using WordNet, the process becomes more efficient. The time it takes to summarize text using this method increases linearly with the amount of input. This new approach outperforms other existing text-summarization methods.
