Ukraine's Economic Growth Hinges on Boosting Total Factor Productivity Drivers
The Total Factor Productivity (TFP) is crucial for economic growth. Researchers studied TFP drivers in Ukraine and found that factors like knowledge transfer, innovation, and education quality play a key role. TFP in Ukraine had high growth until 2012, then dropped sharply until 2015, but started growing again in 2016-2017. Factors like investment in intangible assets and innovation in high-tech sectors helped boost TFP. However, challenges like limited technology transfer and reduced funding for research and innovation hinder TFP growth. Future efforts should focus on implementing structural reforms to address these issues, especially in innovation and education.
