New Kriging Algorithm Improves Accuracy of GIS-based Thematic Mapping
The article compares different methods for making maps using data collected from the ground. They tested four methods to see which one was best at predicting the levels of certain elements like As and Pb. The study found that one method, called indicator kriging, was the most accurate at predicting both very low and very high values. Other methods like log-normal kriging tended to overestimate the values. This information can help choose the best method for making maps with this type of data.
