Liaoning's coal addiction stifles green growth, clean energy key to sustainable future
The study analyzed the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth in Liaoning Province, China. By using grey correlation analysis, the researchers found that sectors like wholesale and retail had low energy consumption but strong ties to economic growth. Industry energy consumption was high but had a weak connection to economic growth. Oil and hydro-power consumption were closely linked to economic growth, while coal consumption showed low efficiency. To achieve sustainable development, Liaoning Province should focus on transforming economic growth patterns, adjusting industry structures, optimizing energy usage, and promoting clean and renewable energy sources.
