Deforestation in Aceh Utara Watershed Leads to Increased Runoff Discharge.
The study looked at how changes in land use affect the amount of water flowing in the Kr. Pase watershed in Aceh Utara. By analyzing rainfall and runoff data, the researchers found that the reduction of forest area in the watershed led to an increase in runoff. They used a method called the rational method to calculate the amount of runoff, considering factors like rainfall intensity, watershed area, and flow coefficient. By dividing the watershed into subwatersheds, they identified the one with the longest concentration time.
