Ecosystem service flow research is crucial but still unclear. This paper discusses two ways to understand it: how services move from ecosystems to people, and how people benefit from ecosystem structures. The latest studies on these ideas show different strengths and weaknesses. Future research should focus on using new technology like big data and considering urban ecosystem services and non-biological flows.
