The study examined why late-sown rapeseed in Jiangsu had low yields. Researchers found that delaying planting reduced rapeseed yield, with the best planting window from September 21 to October 3 and the latest recommended date being around October 24. The key reason for low yield in late-sown rapeseed was fewer pods per plant. This pod shortage was mainly due to less dry matter accumulating before flowering.
