Mustard straw-based feed fails to boost lamb growth, study finds.
Lambs were fed a mix of untreated and treated mustard straw with concentrate to see if it helped them grow. The treated straw had more protein, but the lambs ate less of it and didn't gain weight. The lambs that ate the untreated straw gained some weight, but not as much as expected. Overall, the study found that mustard straw doesn't work well as a food source for lambs, even when treated.
