Soilless Capsicum Farming Boosts Yields and Profits for Smallholder Farmers
The study tested different ways of giving nutrients to capsicum plants grown in soilless media in a polyhouse. They found that using a mix of 50% fertigation and 50% foliar application led to the best growth, yield, and quality of capsicum. This method resulted in taller plants, more branches, and higher fruit yield. On the other hand, using only fertigation gave the highest levels of pH, ascorbic acid, and TSS in the fruits. Overall, the 50% fertigation + 50% foliar application gave the best balance of growth and quality, leading to the highest profits for the farmers.
