GIS Reveals Alarming Increase in Water Demand in GCC Countries
Water shortages in GCC countries are a major concern due to rapid population growth and limited water resources. To address this, the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) was explored to manage water demand. The study found significant increases in water demand for agriculture, forestry, amenity, and domestic sectors in the future. This approach can help infrastructure planners in GCC countries better understand and plan for water demand in their local areas.
