The study looked at how different properties of paddy soil affect the release of $Sr^{90}$. They found that most of the $Sr^{90}$ in the soil can be easily washed away by water. The amount of $Sr^{90}$ that can be removed by ammonium acetate is high and decreases with more calcium but increases with more treatment. The type of soil affects how $Sr^{90}$ is distributed, with more in certain types of soil. $Sr^{90}$ that is not easily removed is higher in soils with more illite and less vermiculite. The release of $Sr^{90}$ from the soil decreases with higher pH and certain soil components, but increases with more organic matter and clay.
