Revolutionizing Rural Libraries: Affordable Tech Access for All Communities
Rural libraries struggle with tight budgets for new technology. An attempt was made to replace old library computers with a low-cost option, the APC 8950 Rock single board computer. However, the initial attempt failed due to limitations of the APC unit's operating system. Future plans involve using the Raspberry Pi platform for a second system. This project aims to help rural libraries and patrons have more control over the technology they use.
