The researchers developed a cost-effective microbial agent for pig manure composting in Jiaxing City. They compared this agent with a commercial one by studying various compost indicators over 38 days. The compost with the new agent had lower water content, met maturity standards faster, and had better organic matter content. The new agent shortened composting time by 5-8 days compared to the commercial one. The fertilizer produced with the new agent is of higher quality and more beneficial for preservation.
