Encounters with Polish migrants in UK transform negative attitudes to positive
This article explores how people in the UK feel about Polish immigrants who arrived after 2004. Some locals have negative attitudes towards Polish migrants because they think they compete for jobs and benefits. However, when locals and migrants interact positively, attitudes can change. Polish migrants also understand the concerns of locals and try to adapt. This research shows that encounters between different groups can shape attitudes towards immigration. It highlights the importance of these interactions in forming opinions about diversity in European societies.
