New transmission design boosts acceleration and fuel efficiency in vehicles!
A new type of transmission called continuously variable transmission (CVT) is being developed to improve how power is transferred in vehicles. This CVT uses metal belts and variable pulleys to change gears smoothly and efficiently. However, it can lose torque at low engine speeds due to belt slipping. To fix this issue, a launch gear is being added to the CVT to increase torque at lower engine speeds. This improvement will help vehicles accelerate better and use fuel more efficiently.
