Sunflower farmers can boost yields by adjusting sowing dates
The researchers studied how different planting dates affect the yield of sunflower crops. They tested six sunflower varieties in Iran in 2012 and found that the Euroflor variety had the highest grain yield. Planting later led to heavier grains but fewer grains per head. Overall, the timing of planting had a significant impact on the weight and number of grains produced by the sunflowers.
