Researchers analyzed the economic development of rural areas in Guangxi from 1996 to 2007 using ESDA-GIS technology. They found that the economic development levels of different counties in Guangxi remained relatively stable over this period, with similar levels clustering together spatially. By using this spatial analysis method, they were able to clearly identify and visualize the spatial differences in rural economic development.
