Roadside lawn growth impacted by sowing date, affecting plant height and root length.
The study aimed to see how different types of grass grow on roadside banks when planted at different times. They looked at five grass species and found that the timing of planting had a big impact on how quickly the roots and shoots grew. Grass planted in the late fall had shorter roots and smaller shoots compared to grass planted in the spring. Perennial ryegrass had the longest roots and tallest shoots in both planting times, while Kentucky bluegrass had the shortest roots and smallest shoots.
