The article presents new ways to estimate population parameters more accurately in surveys. By using different dispersion measures of auxiliary variables like inter-decile range or median absolute deviation, the researchers developed improved variance estimators. These new estimators outperform traditional ones when dealing with outliers and non-symmetrical populations, as shown in real datasets.
