Polluted Air in China Linked to Automobile Manufacturing and Chemical Plants
Air pollution in Xiangyang, China was studied by measuring pollutants and weather conditions for a year. Key findings include: PM2.5 and PM10 are major pollutants year-round, O3 becomes less important after November; cars make more particles, chemical plants make more gases; weekends don't affect pollution levels; Chinese New Year celebrations increase SO2 levels; humidity and wind speed reduce particle levels, while temperature increases O3.
