Construction workers' personalities linked to safety behavior, impacting task assignments.
Construction workers' personality traits can affect their safety behavior on the job. A study of 280 workers found that conscientiousness is the most important trait for safety, followed by extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. Workers high in agreeableness and conscientiousness tend to behave more safely, while those high in extraversion and neuroticism are more likely to engage in unsafe behavior. This suggests that managers should consider workers' personalities when assigning tasks, as certain traits may make them better suited for specific job roles.
