The scientists conducted pumping tests in two different geological areas to better understand how water flows in karst aquifers. By using a method called diagnostic plot, they were able to distinguish between different types of water flow in these underground systems. The study focused on a carbonate aquifer near Marseille, France, and found that this method can help improve the interpretation of pumping tests in such environments. This research could lead to better management of groundwater for water supply in the Mediterranean region.
