New geostatistical methods revolutionize rainfall estimation accuracy in Nigeria.
The study compared three methods for estimating average daily rainfall in a river basin in Nigeria. They used data from nine gauging points and found that the moving average method gave the highest rainfall values. The results showed that different methods can give similar results, but it's important to choose the best method for the specific purpose. Remote sensing and GIS techniques were found to be effective for estimating rainfall over a large area.
