Flue Gas Recirculation Boosts Efficiency and Cuts Coal Consumption in Boilers
The study looked at how using a flue gas recirculation system in a coal-fired boiler affects its performance. They found that the system can lower the boiler's efficiency somewhat, especially at low power levels. However, it can also raise the temperatures of certain steam types. Comparing different parts of the system, they discovered that using the system can reduce coal usage by up to 1.51g/kW·h at 200MW load and 1.86g/kW·h at 140MW load.
