The article discusses how urban expansion affects building developers in suburbs. It explains the process of suburbanization and its impact on developers' market selection, positioning, and development structure. Using a city model, the study analyzes competition among developers in different stages. The research shows that most Chinese cities are currently in a circular competition stage, but as populations and industries grow in suburbs, competition will shift to a plate pattern.
