Silicon fertilizer boosts rice yield and reduces water pollution in paddy fields.
The study looked at how adding silicon fertilizer to rice fields affects crop yield and the loss of nitrogen and phosphorus in the soil. By testing different amounts of silicon fertilizer, researchers found that it increased rice yield and nutrient absorption, while also reducing nitrogen and phosphorus levels in surface water initially. However, phosphorus levels in the water increased after 45 days. The silicon fertilizer also improved soil quality by increasing silicon levels and organic matter content. Overall, the findings suggest that using silicon fertilizer can benefit rice production and help control nutrient loss in paddy fields.
