Revolutionary method recovers valuable coal from waste, benefiting economy and environment
Fine coal in coal washeries' tailings can be recovered using aggloflotation, a method tested in Tunçbilek coal washery in Turkey. By adjusting various factors like conditioning time and frother dosage, researchers achieved a clean coal with lower ash content and higher calorific value compared to the original tailings. Aggloflotation was found to be more effective than oil agglomeration for this purpose.
