New natural air-conditioning system slashes energy use in ultra-low buildings!
A new air-conditioning device called NHTACTD was created for ultra-low energy buildings. It can heat, cool, and control moisture in a room based on water temperature. NHTACTD is better than other devices like radiators and fan coil units. Three system configurations were made using NHTACTDs: one with fresh air for high air quality, one with only NHTACTDs, and one with both NHTACTDs and radiant panels for cooling. These configurations were tested in an ultra-low energy residential building.
