Rainfall-runoff model update could reduce flood risks and soil erosion
The researchers improved a rainfall-runoff model by updating data related to how land and soil affect water flow. They focused on runoff curve numbers (CN), which help estimate runoff amounts. By using this new data in their model, they successfully reduced simulated runoff in the Odra River area, making their predictions closer to real measurements. The method they developed can be useful for managing flood risks and soil erosion.
