A new method using wavelet transform for image segmentation was developed. It helps to keep image details and find the best segmentation threshold automatically. By breaking down images into different directions, this method gives better results than traditional methods like maximum variance or histogram valley threshold segmentation. It works especially well for medical images. This method could improve medical image segmentation in the future and guide further research in this area.
