Expansive soil slopes runoff control breakthrough: changing surface water management forever!
The study looked at how water moves on slopes with special soil in southern China. They used fake rain to see how steepness and wetness of the soil affect water flow. They found that more water runs off when the slope is steeper and the soil is drier. But even with wet soil, a lot of the rain still soaks into the ground. The wetter the soil, the less the slope steepness matters. So, if the soil is already wet, the slope angle doesn't change how much water soaks in. This info can help control water on these special slopes.
