Urban wetlands are impacted by human activities, affecting their structure. By using terrain and landscape indices, researchers analyzed urban wetlands in detail to support wildlife sustainability. They found that wetland coverage increased at the watershed level, with more complex shapes and edges at the patch level. Terrain analysis showed wetlands becoming wetter and less vulnerable to stream power in many areas. Overall, these indices effectively characterize urban wetland structures for socio-ecological sustainability.
