Drip-irrigated wheat boosts yields and water efficiency in North China
Drip irrigation and nitrogen levels were studied for winter wheat in North China. Increasing irrigation and nitrogen improved wheat growth and yield, but too much nitrogen was not helpful. The best results were seen with 240 kg/ha of nitrogen and 40 mm of irrigation, leading to high yields and efficient water and nitrogen use. This research can help farmers manage water and nitrogen for winter wheat in the North China Plain.
