The researchers tested a new method to clean up wastewater from vegetable oil refineries for safe reuse. They combined a membrane filtration system with a process called coagulation/flocculation. This hybrid method removed almost all impurities from the water, like turbidity, COD, and TOC. The water quality improved significantly compared to using each method separately. The hybrid process also had good membrane permeability, making it suitable for industrial use.
