Hybrid rice outperforms traditional varieties in nitrogen-rich environments, boosting yields.
The study compared the performance of hybrid and traditional rice varieties under different nitrogen levels. Hybrid rice showed higher yields, biomass, and nitrogen uptake than traditional rice across all nitrogen levels. Increasing nitrogen levels led to higher grain yields for all varieties, with one traditional variety showing optimal yield at 225 kg/ha. Hybrid rice consistently outperformed traditional rice in terms of yield, biomass, and nitrogen uptake at all nitrogen levels tested.
