New Radar-Rain Gauge Method Improves Flood Forecasting Accuracy in China.
The article evaluates different methods of combining radar and rain gauge data to improve precipitation estimates in Northern China. The researchers tested six merging methods on eight storm events and found that integrating radar and rain gauge data performed the best, while adjusting radar bias performed the worst. The quality of the merging products affects flood forecasting accuracy, with higher quality products leading to better agreement between observed and simulated runoff.
