Organic drip irrigation boosts fruit yield and soil quality in arid regions.
Drip irrigation with organic fertilizer improved soil quality and fruit yield in a desert area. The researchers studied the effects of different irrigation and fertilizer methods on jujube plants over 7 years. They found that using drip irrigation with organic fertilizer increased soil organic carbon, reduced salt content, and boosted fruit yield and quality. The jujube plants treated with drip irrigation and organic fertilizer had higher levels of carbohydrates and vitamin C in their fruits compared to other treatments. The study showed that organic fertilizer input was the most important factor in improving soil quality and fruit yield in extremely arid regions.
