Optimizing Water and Phosphorus Levels Boost Maize Growth and Yield
The study looked at how water and phosphorus levels affect the growth of maize roots and their ability to take up phosphorus. They tested different water levels and phosphorus amounts in soil to see how they impacted maize seedlings. The results showed that too little or too much water can harm root growth and phosphorus uptake. Moderate water stress can actually help roots grow and absorb phosphorus efficiently. Adding phosphorus to the soil can increase root growth and phosphorus uptake in maize seedlings. The study concluded that the right balance of water and phosphorus can improve maize root growth and reduce wasteful phosphorus absorption.
