Access to Agricultural Credit Boosts Rice Productivity by 37% in Senegal.
Agricultural credit access has a big impact on rice productivity in Senegal. A study of 260 rice farmers in Anambe basin found that farmers with access to credit had 37.32% higher rice production than those without. The study used Stochastic Frontier Analysis to show that inputs like labor, pesticides, and fertilizer significantly affect rice productivity. Farmers without agricultural credit had 3.8% higher production inefficiency. This research suggests that promoting agricultural credit can help improve rice production in Senegal.
