A new cost model was created to estimate how much it costs to maintain civil aircraft during the design phase. The model focuses on line and base maintenance activities and uses current data from the International Air Transport Association. By analyzing different cost factors, the model can accurately predict maintenance costs for new aircraft projects. The results show that the model works well for both traditional and innovative aircraft designs, including those using new technologies like composite materials.
