Biogenic amorphous silica in soils helps plants resist drought by increasing water holding capacity. Adding even small amounts of bASi significantly boosts soil's ability to retain water, with potential to increase plant available water by over 40%. This study suggests that increasing bASi content in soil can enhance water availability, potentially reducing drought stress for plants.
