Revolutionary Mulching Technique Boosts Maize Yield in Tarai Region
The study looked at how different amounts of water and mulch affect the growth and yield of maize in the Tarai region. They tested three levels of irrigation and four types of mulch. The results showed that giving 30% of the soil's available moisture and using green gram straw mulch at 5 tons per hectare led to the best growth and highest yield of maize. This combination resulted in the tallest plants, the most leaves per plant, the heaviest grains, and the highest overall yield of maize.
