New mungbean hybrids promise higher yields and faster harvests!
Researchers evaluated different combinations of mungbean plants to find hybrids that produce a lot of seeds quickly. They crossed seven lines with three testers to see which combinations gave the best results. They found that some crosses had positive effects on plant height, number of pods per plant, and number of seeds per pod. One cross, KM11-563 x KM11-582, showed a significant increase in the number of pods per plant. Another cross, KM11-584 x KM11-582, had a high number of seeds per pod. These findings can help farmers grow mungbeans more efficiently and get higher yields.
